A Newly Built Venue with Glass Hall Architecture
Leipziger Messe was completely rebuilt in 1996 on the northern edge of the city and spans 111,900 m² across five halls plus the iconic Glass Hall as the central entrance building. The architecture is deliberately transparent and modern — a visible counterpoint to the tradition of Leipzig trade fairs, which date back to the 12th century. The Congress Center Leipzig (CCL) is directly attached. For exhibitors, the compact layout is an advantage: visitors find booths quickly, and staff can traverse the entire fair in minutes. We therefore often plan Leipzig operations with smaller, highly specialised teams rather than mega setups.
Air Cargo Hub and S-Bahn Tunnel
Leipzig/Halle Airport is one of Europe's major air cargo hubs (the DHL hub) and reaches the exhibition grounds via the S5/S5X S-Bahn in about ten minutes. From Leipzig Central Station — one of the most architecturally impressive terminus stations in Europe — S-Bahn and tram lines bring trade visitors to the fair in twelve minutes. Thanks to the S-Bahn tunnel inaugurated in 2013, Halle (Saale), Dessau, and the Halle exhibition areas are also well connected. Hotel locations concentrate in the city centre and around the fair itself. We specifically recruit from Leipzig, Halle, Dresden, and Jena, where universities have strong student bodies.

As a logistics location with DHL, Amazon, Porsche plant, and BMW plant, Leipzig has grown into a significant industrial cluster in Central Germany. In parallel, an internationally recognised creative scene has established itself — the Baumwollspinnerei is one of the most important centres of contemporary art in Germany, while the Academy of Fine Arts trains internationally reviewed artists.
